Junior Sales Engineer

DHT is offering an exciting opportunity for a Jr. Sales Engineer to join their fast-growing team in the HVAC industry. The Jr. Sales Engineer will play a key role in supporting heat transfer product sales, both on job sites and through in-office client relationships. To achieve this, the Jr. Sales Engineer will work closely with manufacturer representatives, contractors and facilities personnel throughout the NY/NJ area to ensure that sales goals are met, and customers are satisfied. The Jr. Sales Engineer is also responsible for the overall product selection and design meet application needs including functionality, material, and test requirements while staying within cost targets.

DHT is committed to providing the necessary support and training to ensure the success of this role. As a result, the Jr. Sales Engineer will be trained to become a technical advisor and advocate for the products, providing expert advice to clients on product selection and use.

This is a hybrid position where 75% will be on job sites or conducting customer visits in the NY/NJ metropolitan area. The remaining 25% of the time will be spent working from home and/ or at the DHT main office in Towaco, NJ.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct site visits to measure and gather data, evaluate product selection, and provide quotes.
  • Call on major accounts, negotiate sales prices and discounts in consultation with management.
  • Utilize Genius ERP to provide quotes and follow up on sales orders to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Provide Sales and Rep Support by assisting with quoting, spec review, and submittals in the sales engineering process.
  • Provide technical support for pre and post-sales.
  • Provide Customer Support to engineers, contractors, and end-users.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings.
  • Create and maintain project timelines and provide weekly/ monthly status updates to management.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2+ years’ experience in HVAC industry and or mechanical engineering.
  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering a plus.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic controls, machining operations, welding, and brazing is preferred.
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter, capable of working independently and able to drive concepts to completion.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, oral and written communication skills to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary functions (engineering, sales, operations)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. Solid public speaking skills; able to present ideas, conclusions, and recommendations with clarity to diverse business audiences.

Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for direct communication with customers via telephone and email. Duties include daily transmission of invoices to customers, reviewing and processing credit memos, and reconciling customer receivable balances. Responsible for reviewing receipts and allocating payments to specific transactions, as well as processing and monitoring payments and expenditures. Additionally, this position serves as a liaison between sales and internal departments, facilitating the quoting and processing of orders for Residential/SEB & HVAC departments.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  •  Process all deposits, incoming wires, post payments, and process credit card payments.
  • Create, code and post invoices; e-mail/mail documents with proper backup to customers both domestic and international – to expedite payments.
  • Maintain accurate customer files and jobs setup.
  • Process collection activities of current, past due and delinquent accounts.
  • Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
  • Review/ release accounts based on credit standing (pay cycle, over credit limit, etc).
  • Process payments and reconciliations and verify same in subsidiary ledgers.
  • Maintain A/P files including: unpaid invoices, paid invoices, permanent vendor files.
  • Manage new vendor setups including W-9 forms from vendors, process credit applications as needed.
  • Update customer profiles in our system. Register on vendor/ third-party web sites as required in order to conduct business with certain customers. Evaluate credit risks of new customers and follow through with credit references using our contracted credit company.
  • Register/maintain vendor web sites to remain current and compliant.
  • Confirm orders and keep track of CIA and COD orders/payments/wires. Keep track of ship dates and any “CIA and COD” payments, which may involve holding back shipments due to credit issues.
  • Assist accounts payable in matching purchase orders with receivers, and entering vendor invoices.
  • Produce monthly commission reports and monthly bank reconciliation of deposits.
  • Generate aging reports, collection calls and e-mails, and resolve any payment disputes.
  • Open and distribute incoming and outgoing mail. Prepare/track shipments through UPS/ Fedex when necessary
  • Maintain excellent communication and relationships with customers, vendors, and employees.
  • Escalate issues as appropriate and bring to management’s attention with recommendation
  • Manage commissions by determining which invoices are eligible to be paid. Sort invoices by sales/territory. File monthly commission documents

Qualifications:

  • Associated Degree in Accounting required, Bachelors preferred.
  • 3-5 years billing/sales order entry experience. Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong time managements skills, including organization, prioritizing and being able to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Strong team player with good analytical skills, paying attention to details and ability to be self-motivated.
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate skills in ERP MRP system accounting software (Genius preferred).

Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector position is responsible for the approval/rejection process of all incoming parts, in-process, final inspection of outgoing units, processing returned goods authorizations, and first article inspections. The Inspector has experience with quality measurement tools, drawing tolerances, and knowledge of quality metrics. The inspector must be able to interact with all departments Manufacturing, Purchasing and Engineering in order to ensure quality conformance and effectively keep the flow of raw materials and final shipments moving efficiently. The Inspector will report directly to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain 5S pillars to provide a methodology for organizing, cleaning, developing and sustaining a productive work environment.
  • Process/complete incoming inspections, on floor in process inspections/rejections.
  • Document non-conformities in compliance with ASME and internal procedures.
  • Maintain and use inspection tools (visual sorting, micrometer, veneer calipers, tape measure etc.).
  • Recommend and/or verifies implementation of appropriate root cause and corrective action for quality issues, in coordination with management, engineering and purchasing.
  • Receiving and cataloging of MTR’s.
  • Review incoming MTR’s, CFC’s and all certs to match incoming materials.
  • Perform non-conformities reporting.
  • Facilitate the RGA process. Ensure return goods are processed within acceptable cycle times.
  • Perform other duties as required. Maintain visual measurements, utilize visual aids for adherence to CTQ (critical to quality measures), provide first point of contact with in-process non-conformities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read blueprints and calculate tolerance stack ups.
  • Must have good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be proficient with precision measuring instrumentation.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing responsibilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (contact with suppliers, contractors, freight representatives, auditors, etc).
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to work safely.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems/ understanding of bill of materials & inventory.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarly with 5S principals of manufacturing.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.

Assembler

Assemble and test a variety of tube bundles, coils, and shells. The assembler will complete final assembly, testing, and quality control of all parts. Assemble all units in Hydro and Final assembly, including all piping, insulation, and wiring, along with final testing. Must be able to read and follow work orders, blueprints, and work instructions to complete units as designed and to quality standards. Responsible for utilizing the Quality Traveler system to track all critical-to-quality metrics and ensure all products are built to acceptable design and assembly standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handle light, heavy and average weight parts.
  • Use hand and power tools.
  • Accurately complete all sub-assemblies prior to installation on unit.
  • Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment
  • Assemble a variety of products from blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to fit parts to close tolerances.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Listen and learn from instructions.
  • Cooperate and participate in the department’s training program.
  • Participate in all 5S initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • English comprehension is a must.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing responsibilities.
