Product Designer

The Product Designer is responsible for the complete mechanical design of heat transfer equipment. This includes significant SolidWorks CAD solid models, detailed 2D drawings, and must understand and practice “Design for Manufacturing Assembly” (DFMA). Design skill requirements include ASME heat exchanger, frames, enclosures, electrical wiring and dynamic components.  DFMEA and Design Simulation/FEA are a plus.


  • Define, develop, evaluate and verify designs to meet product requirements and target costs;
  • Prepare detail drawings of various mechanical systems;
  • Prepare system layout and assembly drawings for machine systems;
  • Work with sales and engineering on specifications and requirements;
  • Detailed design work for hardware, machined parts, integration components and various mechanical components;
  • Ensure drawing compliance with company CAD standards and styles;
  • Review complex drawings and layouts to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, function and conformity to standards, procedures and specifications. Identify design errors, omissions or other deficiencies.
  • AutoCAD Assist in sizing and selection of mechanical components;
  • Design in SolidWorks CAD of solutions to customer problems;
  • Creation and maintenance of CAD libraries for components and designs;
  • Creation, maintenance and communication of Bill of Materials and part numbers;
  • Work with purchasing department to acquire material necessary to complete projects;
  • Creation of drawing and documentation packages;
  • Required to control costs, adhere to a schedule, and improve the quality of a product/service;
  • NPD Designs for Lean Mfg. Flow
  • Understands and can work in a market driven cycle time environment
  • Performs other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 4 year college degree in Industrial Product Design
  • 4 to 6 years of mechanical product design
  • Prior mechanical design experience required;
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred;
  • Proficient use of machine and measuring tools is needed;
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with a diversity of problems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; works efficiently and meets deadlines
  • Well organized and a self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects

Assemble a variety of tube bundles, coils, and shells.   The assembler will complete final assemblies and testing of all parts.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Handle light and average weight parts.
  • Use hand and power tools.
  • Accurately complete all sub-assemblies prior to installation on the unit.
  • Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment.
  • Assemble a variety of products from blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to fit parts to close tolerances.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Listen and learn from instructions.
  • Cooperate and participate in the department’s training program.
  • Participate in all 5S initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • At least two (2) years of experience in the assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • English Comprehension

Welder Combination

The Welder Combination will follow standard welding procedures and techniques to optimize Flux Cored Arc, Stick, MIG, TIG, and plasma welding processes on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and nickel materials.  These processes will be used to weld pressure vessels and structural steels. Pressure vessel welding must meet all applicable ASME and TEMA specifications and pass X-Ray, dye penetrant and visual inspections.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Pass ASME coupon tests  and obtain ASME Certified Combination Welder
  • Weld mig, tig, and stick pressure vessels and structural steels
  • Use quality assurance instruments
  • Ensures equipment is maintained, and quality standards are met with all products
  • Read blueprints according to weld specifications and blueprints
  • Review engineering change orders (ECO’s) and implement desired changes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
  • Follow standardized processes.
  • Must adhere to “5S” standards daily


  • Technical Degree/2 year minimum mig, tig, stick welding experience in manufacturing environment or combo of education and work experience
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • English Comprehension: Ability to read, write and communicate
  • Ability to handle light and average weight parts.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to listen and learn from instructions, cooperate and participate in the department’s training program
  • Ability to work safely
  • Must be flexible with assignment changes needed to fulfill production needs
